ALESSANDRO ARCODIA and CRISTIANA MECOZZI in Poverini! The Ruling Class of 2050

Poverini! aims to imagine what kind of adults the so-called “iPad kids”—those born in the 2010s—will become. A dark comedy in three episodes, featuring two actor-writers who play all the characters. Without ever seeing him, we follow the story of Gioele, born in 2015, from birth until he turns 30. We journey through his life at various pivotal moments, starting with his family: Laura and Giacomo, two neurotic parents who fill his schedule and post about him online. His school years are represented by Mara and Sergio, two inept teachers who struggle to navigate acronyms, complaints, and certifications. We’ll then discover the inevitable fate of poor Gioele, the prototype of a generation forced to grow up in a world devoid of adults.
